Ideas for Faith Based Groups

Small group?  Mega church? Something in between? More Christian groups are beginning to reach out to special needs children and their families. Organizations such as Key Ministry and Joni & Friends are coming along side churches to walk them through the process. This is great news and much needed.  Thank you, churches! Eventually, the children become adults. Similar to aging out of the school system is when special needs individuals age out of ministries churches have worked hard to put in place.  Here at LOMAH, we are dedicated to creating opportunities for the adult population.  Ideas of ways to include Adults with special needs: Host an event Create an event Form a weekly adaptive communication bible study group Invite them into already existing bible study groups Include adults with special needs in your weekend service (music, usher, greeter) Offer use of your building for a day program Partner with an organization to provide financial and volunteer support Be a friend to an adult with special needs Help with transportation  Make services accessible Teach God's love in creative ways Get to know the families and ask how to serve
